My internet service at home has been fixed.

I cannot blog at work

so I will be catching up to you all

"I already got a new signal when I went through the menu electronically."

Him

"Let's try it again."

Me
sigh

Him

"Now unplug, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in."

Me

"My friend said it is called Mr. C."

Him

"Mr what?" (sounding confused.)

Me
"You know Mr. C. You unplug, wait, plug in and restart in this manner:

Modem Router Computer--Mr. C

Except I have no Router so mine is MC like McDonald's. tee hee."

Him
"Uh, yes that's right!"

SO I do the routine and once again still NO INTERNET!

Him
"Let me send another signal wait and.."

Me
"I have no more time for signals."

Him
"We can schedule a service visit."

Me
"I have no time for this right now, I am on my way to work."

Him
"Please call back when you have a chance."

Me
"I just want my Internet back. I don't want signals and visits.

I want to be able to visit my friends without getting into trouble at work!!!"

Him
"Ma'am I am sorry I don't know what you are talking about."

Me
"We'll before I lost my connection, I was a Blogger.

I am a single, working mom who NEEDS to blog!."

Him
(again confused)
"We'll Ma'am you just call us when you have time, we will schedule a technician to come out and see what the problem is and then you can visit with your friends."

Me
"I don't want someone to have to schedule and come out. I just want my Internet connection back. My computer diagnostic tells me the connection is okay on my end. It has to be Com Cat that is denying me my only outlet for relaxation!"

Him
"I will send another signal, if that doesn't work, than you will have to schedule an appointment. Please check your computer again."

Me
"I can't. I will check tonight. I have to go to work now--where I will be forced to leave my friends a message telling them that although I miss them, I cannot do much of this blogging at work because of the IT Nazis so I will be reading their posts on the fly, but I will not be leaving comments until I can Bloggity Blog Blog from home.

Him
"Yeah okay."

Me
"You really don't understand do you? I have an addiction, sir."

Him

"This is No Lie, I have heard that one before!"

The games people play at my work

are ridiculous

childish even.

I remember now why I left here the first time.

Next time I leave I will never look back again. (hopefully I will find something soon)

I have been trying since last Friday morning to get one of the directors to approve a grant application.

I left it for him to take home over the weekend and just found out the secretary did not give it to him.

There are a lot of people here who do not like me because I came back to work here with a new administration.

This application could mean up to $100,000 for this community, but

because the secretary doesn't like me, I can't seem to get this to the guy!

What kind of B.S. is this?

This is the reason why this new administration has not been able to make real change in this community...petty politics.

Thank God these people do not work in health care.

Imagine if lives depended on them!

I couldn't find your file at first, but I have it now.

Ms. MSUgal it has been a while since you have been here

Are you seeing another doctor?

Me
No but I do take my kid to the Pediatrician regularly.

MA
That's nice, Now when would you like to come in and what's the problem.

Me
I tried to give blood at the School and they told me I am anemic and need to see my doctor, and that was last April, but I ignored them. Now I am not feeling well.

MA
The nurse at the school told you to see your doctor last April?

Me
Yes.

MA
Same insurance, Yadda Yadda?

Me
No that was my last job, my new insurance is Purple Care Network.

MA

Doctor A does not take that insurance.

Me
Why not?

MA
She has the paperwork but she hasn't filled it out.

Me
She hasn't filled out the paperwork? You're kidding!
What I am supposed to do now?

MA
Find a Primary Care Physician that takes Purple Care.

Me
No, I would like to see Dr. A. She has been my doctor for seven years.

MA
You haven't been here in two years.

Me
I wasn't sick for two years!

Can your have her fill out the paperwork?

MA
I ahve tried, but she won't do it.

Me
What?!
Will you tell her about my situation with the new healthcare? Maybe she will fill it out. She knows me from when I used to work for your hospital in marketing.

MA
I will let her know.

Me
You don't understand. I mean put me on hold and talk with her.

MA (Sighs)

OK Hold on.

Comes back to the phone five minutes later

MA
She won't do it.

Me
Won't do what?

MA
Fill out the paperwork.

Me

You have got to be kidding me. Dr. A won't fill out the paper work to
save her patient from going somehwere else? I hate new doctors, I need
someone who already knows me and that someone is Dr. A.

MA
I am telling you she won't do it. We have tried to get her to fill out the paperwork before but she refuses.

Me
I don't believe that. Let me talk to the doctor.

MA
I am sorry she is with a patient.

Me
I knew you were going to say that. Good Bye.


The next day I tried to get through to the Doctor.

She is still to busy to talk to me...or so they say.

Perhaps I should write this Doctor a letter?

Quick note to let you all know I am still around.

My Internet is down at home and nobody knows why!

Lately

it has come to my attention

Today is Friday

so it is a good day for me

to begin to believe tha same thing.

Only I have to

in order to

So State of Michigan workers will be reporting to work today,

We have a 30 day extension on a budget that took nine months to come to a temporary agreement.

And the agreement?

Increase in income taxes

Increase in sales taxes

Some, but not enough, budget cuts.

So those who have chosen to stay here

and keep the faith in Michigan

will continue to be

the ones

who

are

punished.

Here's a thought

pretend like every dime you spend in Lansing is your own.

Pretend like you are fiscally responsible.

Organize a "way forward" committee like our

Big Three finally succumbed to and

figure out how to capitalize on our resources

and for real this time

eliminate the wasteful spending.
